Original T-A drill inserts are an excellent choice for gerneral purpose use. The design provides fast penetration rates that produce good hole size and finish. Standard geometry combines highly efficient and stable cutting action to minimize power consumption. Recommended for use in most steels, cast irons, high temperature alloys and aluminum alloys. Gen2 T-A is the next generation in replaceable tip drilling systems. Gen2 T-A provides for lower drilling forces with increased drill stability. The geometry allows for smooth- er breakout on through holes and improved chip formation. Flat Bottom T-A drills are used as a secondary finishing tool for bottoming and for flat bottom finishing. MATERIALS: HSS (CPM-M4) This tool steel grade possesses the highest material toughness to resist shock. It will drill the majority of steels and cast irons in the industry that are below 280 BHN. Super Cobalt (CPM-T15) This tool steel grade exhibits mid-range wear resistance and toughness. This grade with provide increased wear resistance in any ferrous or non-ferrous application within the 280-359 BHN range. Premium Cobalt the most wear-resistant tool steel. It is more susceptible to fracture from shock and vibration. It is recommended for hard materials (350-500 BHN) as well as abrasive materials. COATINGS:TiN coating provides increased lubricity and heat resistance and allows for increased machining speeds. TiAlN coating has a higher heat threshold allowing for higher drilling speeds in stainless steels, titanium and nickel-based alloys. Has proven successful in cast iron applica- tions. Not for aluminum. AM200 proprietary coating has excellent wear characteristics and a high heat threshold. Ideal for most high penetration drilling applications.
